Hi I know it's been a while, but it always seems like September just flies by, I guess it's the fact that a new school years is starting, summer activities are not finished and the fall ones are starting up...all of this combined with me starting a new job has meant my Blog has been neglected a bit. So I thought it was time I get into my craft room and do something creative.
I decided the best way to get my mojo jump started was to challenge myself, so I found this great challenge- Simon Says Stamp use your punches or dies challenge. I made this card for my Cousin who was getting married this past weekend. I used my Martha Stewart punch, Tim Holtz die, and a great stamp from Simon Says Stamps the patterned paper is from My Minds Eye.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Make it Monday # 79
Here is my card I made for this weeks Make it Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's Blog. It was the perfect challenge, as I needed a card for my neice's sixth birthday. So I created my card using the very cute "Sweet as can be" die from Papertrey Ink. The challenge this week was to use fabric with your dies, so I had some burlap that I wanted to use for the icecream cone, I adhered it to some chipboard and then ran it through my Cuttlebug, and viola, the perfect icecream cone!! I also used my "Beautiful Blooms" dies to cut some fabric flowers. I love the way this card turned out, and I hope my neice loves. Some of the other products I used were, My "Mat Stack 5" die from Papertrey ink, the sentiment stamp is Butterfly Dreams, Dark Chocolate, Autumn rose and vintage cream felt, Hibiscus cardstock and ink, also from Papertrey ink. The patterned paper is Echo Park-Country Dirve, my Martha Stewart border punch, Rangers Stickles, some gems and twine from my stash. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

Goodbye to Good Friends
We had to say goodbye to some very good friends last week, it was a very emotional week for all of us. We meet about 12 years ago when my husband coached their daughter ( who had special needs) and our daughter in soccer.
They had a son the same age as our son, so they became best of friends, and played soccer, lacrosse together, and went to the same school, and are still best friends today. The father took a job in another city, about 8 hours away. We will miss them very much...
Here is a card I made for them, we had them for dinner one evening before they left, I also made a scrapbook of our kids years together.

Make it Monday Challenge # 64
Here is my second card I made for the Make it Monday #64 Challlenge over on
Capture the Moment
, Nichole Heady's Blog
for Papertrey Ink. The challenge this week was to create a project using color
inpiration. I used this photo from Nichole's Blog as my inspiration.
I loved the soft muted tones of this inspiration photo!! especially the Terracotta and Aqua Mist together with kraft, just spoke to my heart!!! So here is the card I created for this challenge.
For this card I used Kraft cardstock as my base, then Fine Linen, which I stamped a background using the Beautiful Butterfly stamps with versamark ink, I love the tone on tone images I got!!! I used a small scrap of My Minds Eye patterned paper which had all the colors of the inspiration photos, I die cut some Aqua Mist cardstock with the Filigree Border die, added a doily from my stash, then I cut some Terracotta Tile cardstock with my Spellbinders-Label #8 die and stamped my sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies in Dark Chocolate on Kraft cardstock, added more butterflies with versamark, and die cut it also with the Label #8 from Spellbinders. I mounted these on foam adhesive then ran some seam binding and tied a bow, I punched two Butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch, one in Aqua Mist and one in cream velum, added some pearls from Melissa Frances and a flower pin from Maya Road, which I colored with my Copics to match the Terracotta Tile cardstock. For all my Papertrey Ink supplies, you can find them Here. Thanks for stopping by, Have a great day.

Make it Monday Challenge #64
Here is a card I made for the Make it Monday #64 Challlenge over on Capture the Moment , Nichole Heady's Blog for Papertrey Ink. The challenge this week was to create a project using color inpiration. I used this photo from Nichole's Blog as my inspiration.
I love the vintage feel of this photo and the soft colors. So here is the card I created using this as my starting point.
I used Berry Sorbet cardstock as my cardbase, then added this very pretty vintage looking patterned paper from Echo Parks-This & That collection, as my next layer. I die cut three butterflies using Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, and Aqua Mist cardstock and my die from the Beautiful Butterfly die set. I stamped each butterfly with the Gingham background stamp using versamark ink, then added clear embossing powder and heat embossed them, it added a nice dimension of color to the Butterflies!! I added grosgrain ribbon down the middle of the card in Berry Sorbet and Aqua Mist, then mounted my butterflies on top using foam squares. I added Melissa Frances pearls down the centers of each butterfly, for thier bodies, a little bakers twing and button twine, a Hawaiian shores button, then I stamped my sentiment from the Beautiful Butterfly stamp set in Dark Chocolate ink. You can find all my Papertrey ink supplies by shopping Here . Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day, and tomorrow is NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!! Have fun everyone.

Make it Monday Challenge #61
This week on Nichole Heady's Blog for Papertry Ink , the Challenge was to make a flower using a non-flower die. I had so much fun going through all my Papertrey Ink dies, trying to see which one had the best possibility for making a flower. Then it came to me, I love making rolled flowers from plain circle punches, how fun to make a rolled flower from one of the Papertrey Inks Doily Detail dies. So I cut out a few and started to play and I am really happy with how they turned out, so delicate and a little different from the traditional rolled flowers.
I got a head start on my Mother's Day cards with this one, but with these beautiful papers from Bo Bunny-Country Garden, they just said "Mom" to me. The stamps are from the Daily Design set from Papertrey Ink, I used their Dark Chocolate ink and button twine also. The seam binding I colored with some glimmer mist and added some Star Dust Stickles to the flowers.
Here is a photo of how my Doily die cut went from plain to an adorable flower, in three easy steps. The trick is to roll the flowers from the inside-out, this keeps the lacey details on the outside of your flowers. You can cut out portions of the middle to make your flowers smaller, like the yellow flower bud on my card.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

With sadness....
This is a card I made for one of our neighbours who's wife passed away last week, it is really sad, they were such a nice couple, my kids kinda thought of them of like grandparents, they always watched out them when they were little, and treated them so special around any of the holidays...it was difficult for my kids to go to the funeral, and as I told them it never gets easier...
The wreath stamp is Hero Arts, from a Christmas set, but I love using it for all occassions , the background paper is Melissa Frances-5th ave. This card is also entered in a wonderful new Bog challenge A Blog named Hero Challenge #1
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.
